College Freshman in need of additional funding - scholarships or grants

I will be a college freshman this September and I am looking to add to my financial package. I have had liitle to no success in finding scholarship I am qualified for. Right now I am $32k in debt and haven't taken my first class yet. I am going to be studying video game design and development. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help!

Our son is applying for scholarships to fund college at a state university. Do we need to complete FAFSA if he is only applying for merit-based scholarships? He will not be applying for need-based scholarships, PELL grants, or loans. I have a fundamental problem with disclosing all of our financial information (income, assets, etc.) to the federal government/federally-maintained program.
