Parent Overwhelmed!
I'm a parent of a H.S. junior, and we're just beginning he process of looking at schools. She's a gifted artist who goes to a special art high school in Dallas. We're looking for an art centered college. I told her just pick the school she wants and I'll worry about how to pay for it. The economy has hit us hard, so we can't rely on our income to pay for college at all. We'll have to rely on scholarships and hopefully very few loans. I have Ben's first book at home, "How to Got to College Almost for Free", which i've started reading again. I actually interviewed Ben on my radio talk show several years ago when it came out, and I kept the book knowing my day will come. Well here it is, and I need all the help i can get. So...considering she's still in 11th grade, where do i begin? It's too early to apply for FAFSA I presume, so what's first?

Website Value
Ben, I am disappointed in your website. I am reading "How to go to College Almost for Free. Within the book there are several mentions of the Coach's Locker Room as well on the back cover. When I read about the website, I was anxious to visit it and the Locker Room. The book talked about how great the Locker Room is and website itself. However, I see many comments asking about the whereabouts of the Locker Room and did not see any response from you or anybody. Lastly, I was led to believe that the website and Locker Room would be a wealth of information regarding scholarships. Instead, almost the entire site is geared toward selling your books-with none of the links to available scholarships. When I began reading the book mentioned above I got the impressions (scholarship motorhome trek) that you were there to truly help someone-an altruistic act. However, all I see is how to buy your other books. I am a parent pounded by the recession and I am not in the mood to shell out money for your other books when this one doesn't provide the information promised. I'm a little sad that I paid for the first book of your. Cordially, Kevin (San Diego, CA)
